Using and citing FTS data

The Financial Tracking Service (FTS) encourages the use of its data, graphs and reports. Site visitors may copy, download or print content for personal use, and may include FTS data in documents, presentations, blogs, websites and teaching materials, provided that suitable attribution of FTS as data source is given. Such attribution should cite the Financial Tracking Service (FTS), the publication date of the figures used and the relevant URL. If any amends are made to the data, or if the data is combined with another source, or if the graphs and tables are amended in any way, the correct citations should be: "[YOU/YOUR ORGANIZATION]... based on Financial Tracking Service (FTS), [DATE], [URL]."

Linking to FTS

FTS encourages external inbound links to http://fts.unocha.org (or its beta equivalent), and outbound XML feeds from FTS. No prior permission is required, subject to the following conditions:

  • hyperlinks must not infringe FTS rights, in particular relating to its logo, acronym, visual ID and intellectual property rights
  • links to the FTS website must appear clearly as such, i.e. as the complete FTS URL
  • any links to FTS should be tested to ensure operation and compliance with the above conditions.

FTS logo for authorship and endorsement

If you wish to use the FTS logo in association with events or publications in a way that implies endorsement, partnership or authorship, you must obtain our written permission and agreement on how the logo will be used. If permission is granted, it is only granted for the specific event/product requested; usage with another event/product requires a new request.

The designations employed and the presentation of material on this site do not imply the expression of any opinion whatsoever on the part of the Secretariat of the United Nations concerning the legal status of any country, territory, city or area, or if its authorities, or concerning the delimitation of its frontiers or boundaries.

The final status of Jammu and Kashmir has not yet been agreed upon by the parties.

The final boundary between the Republic of Sudan the the Republic of South Sudan has not yet been determined.

FTS makes every effort to ensure, but does not guarantee, the accuracy and completeness of the information provided. Our goal is to keep this information timely and accurate. However FTS is not an active research service; it is a recording service that depends on donors and recipient entities to convey humanitarian funding information to it. Information contained in the FTS website does not imply the expression of any opinion whatsoever on the part of the United Nations or the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) concerning the legal status of any country or of its authorities. The mention of specific companies or certain products does not imply that they are endorsed or recommended by OCHA or the UN in preference to others of a similar nature that are not mentioned. We make every effort to minimize disruption caused by technical errors. However some data or information on the FTS website may have been created or structured in files or formats which are not error-free and we cannot guarantee that our service will not be interrupted or otherwise affected by such problems. FTS accepts no responsibility with regards to such problems (failure of performance, computer virus, communication line failure, alteration of content, etc.) incurred as a result of using the FTS website or any link to external sites.

If the FTS website contains message or communication facilities, the user shall not do any of the following:
  • defame, abuse, harass, threaten or otherwise violate the legal rights of others
  • publish, post, distribute or disseminate any defamatory, infringing, obscene, indecent or unlawful material
  • upload or attach files that contain software or other material protected by intellectual property laws unless the user owns or controls the rights thereto or have received all necessary consents
  • upload or attach files that contain viruses, corrupted files, or any other similar software or programs that may damage the operation of another's computer
  • upload, email, transmit or otherwise make available unsolicited advertising of any goods or services, or conduct or forward surveys, contests, "spam" or chain letters, etc.

The user specifically acknowledges and agrees that FTS is not liable for any conduct of any other user, including, but not limited to, the types of conduct listed above.

Hyperlinks to non-OCHA Internet sites do not imply any official endorsement of, or responsibility for. the opinions, ideas, data or products presented at these locations or guarantee the validity of the information provided. The sole purpose of links to other sites is to indicate further information available on related topics.

Preservation of immunities

Nothing herein shall constitute or be considered to be a limitation upon or a waiver of the privileges and immunities of the United Nations, which are specifically reserved.
